In order to run
HDMI a long distance, you will basically have two options: Buy a bulky HDMI Boosting device that requires external power (keeping in mind you still need to buy the HDMI cable itself) or just get an HDMI cable that has built in active repeater.
The active repeater allows the cable to send the high definition signal the entire length of the cable while keeping resolutions up to 1080p. Normal HDMI cables can start to lose resolution quality after 30 ft lengths. The cable is manufactured for high bandwidth, high definition uncompressed video quality.
All Gefen DVI and HDMI cables are made HDCP compliant. HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) allows high definition signals to be passed on the cable if they have been marked or tagged to be played only on HDCP devices. HDCP was developed to prevent pirating or illeagal copying of high definition video. Any video source and display can use this cable, but with HDCP compliance it has the additional versatility to play HDCP content.
