Common HDMI cables an only run up to 30 ft. before the signal quality start to downgrade. The longer you run the cable, the lower the quality. HDCP stands for High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection which is used with HDTV signals over HDMI and DVI to prevent unauthorized duplication of copy-right protected material.
