  • I installed a new Nvidia GeForce 9800 GX2 card which has Dual Dual-link DVI-I output. If I wanted to run three monitors, I could run one directly and the other with two could run off the other output with your DVI Dual link splitter? And with either Vista or better yet something like UltraMon utilize the space of all three monitors?
    • If you were to run two monitors through a DVI splitter, both monitors would show the exact same thing. They would not act as extended displays to show things independently. In order to have 3 seperate displays you would need a 3rd video port. In most cases this is most easily done by adding a low end PCI video card that has a DVI port on it. The monitor running off that port will not have the performance benefits of running off your main high end video card but will work great for basic applications on that third monitor.
