- I have an external Apple iSight camera-mike mated to OS X 10
5.2 (Leopard). As far as I can tell it's 6-pin. Will this unit
connect thereby extending locale where I can place iSight?
- This unit will allow you to extend any 6-pin firewire device. Assuming your device is a 6 pin firewire device this will work fine. This cable must be plugged directly into a 6 pin port on the computer. If the port on the computers is a 4 pin port this cable will not work. Using this cable you can extend your device up to 14.5 feet further away from your computer. You can use up to 3 of these cables for an extension of 43.5 feet plus the 15 feet of a standard cable.

- Does this cable support suspend and resume?
- This should pass through any signals recieved from your FireWire controller, including suspend and resume signals.

- how does this work? Doesn't it need an external power supply to boost the signal?
- Firewire has power in the signal which this cable draws upon to boost the signal. There is no external power needed.

- I'm trying to extend a digital camcorder from the computer.
Computer is six pin firewire and the camcorder is ILink or 4pin. Will this work with a 6 pin to ILink (4 pin) adaptor?
- This should work just fine for your application. The important thing is that your computer's connection is a 6 pin connection. That type of connection will supply the necessary power to the extension cable.

- what are the dimensions of the 'fat' end. I need to know if my conduit is big enough.
thanks
- The repeater is about 1" by 7/8" If your conduit has at least an interior diameter of 1 & 1/4" it should fit. (The repeater is about 2 & 1/8" long, so any turns in a conduit that tight would have to be gradual if you want to feed the cable after the conduit is installed)
