I have an older PC with an ASUS P4B533 board on it and am trying to get Firewire 800 working on it. How can I tell if I have a 32 or 64 bit PCI interface? Do I need the 64 bit to get the 800 mbps speed? Will this card work on this board?
- The 64-bit PCI slot is a longer slot than standard 32 bit PCI. The firewire 800 ports will still work and be faster than firewire 400 if you are only using 32 bit, but will not reach its full potential unless you have a 64-bit slot.
