frustrated - ATI ONLY

3 stars

Pros: Not sure because I don't have an ATI Card

Cons: Bought it based on the specifications on this site which unfortunately did not state that it is an ATI ONLY piece of hardware.

Pros: Good for ATI only

Cons: Need a list of supported cards!

Other Comments: Just FYI - this will pass through a 1080i max signal through and ATI 3850 (AGP) card. You'll need the proprietary DVI to HDMI adaptor to get the full 1080p signal. Sewell Note: A list of supported cards is difficult to compile because compatibility is dependent on the card manufacturers, not just the chipset. We know which ATI and Nvidia chipsets support component over DVI, however you must contact your card manufacturer to find if your particular card enables the feature.

Pros: It is a DVI to component adapter

Cons: Make sure that you need a DVI-I, because sometimes you have a DVI-D female which will not fit into the male DVI-I

Other Comments: If you are trying to hook up a mac to an HDTV, and you have a mini-DVI to DVI converter, the DVI port on that converter is a female DVI-D and was forced to buy a DVI-D to DVI-I converter

Pros: This small litte device neatly and cleaning covers DVI to Component and give you a choice of aspect ratio. What's to day, DVI in and component out. Better yet if the DVI comes from a HDMI to DVI converter.

Pros:

Cons: It would not pass video signal from my Apple Powerbook to my Denon receiver. I read the instructions and make sure the dip switches were set correctly. I ended up going with another solution.

Other Comments: Sewell Note: Apple computers do not typically support a TV compatible signal, even when using adatpers like this.
