  • Can you use this on a TV? Is there an adapter that allows you to change the connection from a VGA input to an HDMI input on the TV?
    • No, this wouldn't work with a TV - this is not an active adapter that will convert a digital DVI signal to analog (VGA). It is only for analog DVI signals (DVI-A). You probably would not want to convert the input on your TV from VGA to HDMI - even though HDMI provides superior quality, converting the signal from analog to digital will cause a reduction in the quality of the picture and be worse off than just sticking with analog.

    • Assuming that your monitor has a DVI port, then yes, this adapter will meet your needs.

  • I have a 20 inch apple cinema flat screen monitor with a cinema dispay 65w power adapter. I want to use this monitor with my vga DELL computer? Is this posible with this adapter?
    • In order for this adapter to work, your DVI monitor must be fully capable of using an analog VGA signal through its DVI port. A lot of monitors that have DVI ports only support digital DVI signals through that port. From the information Apple provides on those displays it would appear that they do not support a VGA signal, so this product will not work with that monitor. Your best option would probably be to add a DVI port to your Dell computer. If it's a desktop computer you can install a new internal video card that has DVI, or for a laptop i would recommend using our USB to DVI adapter.

  • I have a dell flat screen lcd monitor, it has a vga and dvi-d in. However the cpu ony has a vga out are there any adapters to adapt dvi-d cable from computer to monitor my dvi cable is an 18 pin with one flat pin.
    • DVI-D ports only support a digital signal and VGA is an analog signal. To run a VGA signal into the DVI-D port you would need an analog to digital signal converter. Those generally cost more than buying a new monitor. If your computer only outputs VGA you will need to use a VGA cable and run the signal into the VGA port on the monitor.

  • I need some sort of cable/adapter so that I can plug 2 VGA monitors into one DVI port. Do you have anything like this?
    • If you want the same image on both monitors, the best option is a VGA splitter. If you want to run different programs on each screen, you will need a specialized video card, usually listed with "dualhead" support, and often proprietary cabling.
