Configuring a manual connection to connect to Verizon
Verizon's VZAccess software is currently unable to see modem cards through the USB adapter. You can set up a manual connection that will allow you to use your verizon card with Verizon's broadband network.
Instructions for Windows VISTA
- Go to Start, Control Panel.
- On the left hand side click "Classic View"
- Open "Network and Sharing Center"
- On the left hand side click "Set up a connection or network"
- This will launch the New Connection Wizard, seen here:

- You may be asked to select which modem to use. Select the Curitel PC Card. (In many cases you will not be asked.)
- The next screen will ask you for the information about the ISP. (As seen below)

- For the phone number enter "#777" (without quotes)
- The User name is your phone number @vzw3g.com for example "5551114444@vzw3g.com" the password is "vzw" (without quotes)
- Check the box next to remember password
- The connection name can be anything you would like to name it
- Select "Allow other people to use this connection" (This is only other people using this computer. Unless you do not want other users on that computer to have access to the connection)
- Click the connect button
The new connection should start, and you should be able to connect through your card
Please note: Verizon cards need to be activated, and that cannot be done using a manual connection. If the card is new, it needs to be activated at the Verizon store, or on a laptop with the VZAccess software.
