Steve - Terrible camera 5/15/2008 3:35:27 PM | |
Pros: I bought this camera because I have a large pickup and it was to help me hook up to my trailer. The monitor is so small I had to get very close to see clearly and the camera dies all the time. When you drive by any building with a 2.4ghz wireless camera system in it the monitor comes on showing it. A real pain in the butt Cons: Other Comments: Sewell note: The primary purpose of this camera is to check for objects behind the vehicle. For more detailed viewing (such as for help backing up to a trailer) you might want to find a camera with a larger screen. Was this review helpful? Yes - NoHelpful to 7 out of 8 people voting. Pros: Sewell's service was very good, shipping reasonably priced and quick enough.
Installation of the camera was fairly easy, and the screen was extremely easy, especially since I chose to use the cigarette lighter for power.
Most of the time it works well. Cons: Sometimes, the picture "breaks up" and becomes unusable. It isn't anything in the car causing this, it happens at the gas station every time and even (rarely) in my driveway.
Perhaps if the camera were wired to the screen, it would always work, as it is, we've decided to try something else for our other car; either a wired camera setup or a sensor that causes an audible alarm. Was this review helpful? Yes - NoHelpful to 2 out of 2 people voting. Permalink

Anonymous - Too much work 10/2/2008 4:54:04 PM | |
Pros: Cons: Other Comments: I really thought you meant wireless. Too much work for someone who is working all week. Spent at least an hour and a half before I realized I need to tear my Jeep apart to find wires that I have never heard of before and then try to connect them. Decided that I wasnt capable of completing this task and then went and paid someone to install them for me and it cost more than the camera. Cant you make one for someone who has ten minutes to install and isnt an electrician. Was this review helpful? Yes - NoHelpful to 2 out of 2 people voting. Permalink

Pros: Camera has a decent image when it works. I was able to back up to the hitch on our camper on the first try. Not a bad camera for the price. Cons: Monitor does not always stay on. Sometimes the picture will go blank for a few seconds, then come back on. Other times it will go out totally and not come back on until I shift the truck out of reverse, and then shift back into reverse. Other Comments: I am going to try and find a cable to run from the camera to the monitor to improve the picture/reception. Was this review helpful? Yes - NoHelpful to 2 out of 2 people voting. Dan - Camera Lens 10/30/2008 8:50:09 AM | |
Pros: The sytem works great when it is new. I am on my 3rd camera! Cons: After the winter mess on the roads the camera lens is cloudy and you can't see an image. The lens is plastic and doesn't stand-up to winter weather. The lens should be of glass! Was this review helpful? Yes - NoHelpful to 1 out of 1 person voting. Permalink
