  • I need to connect laptop to tv that is farther acrooss room, how long are the cables for this? also would this work with a projector?
    • The included cables are 6 feet long, however you can connnect any standard composite, component or S-video cables. It will be compatible with projectors.

  • I currently connect my laptop to my TV via an S-video cable. The picture is ok but smaller fonts are hard to read. Will the SW-4279 provide a better (higher definition) picture when connected to the TV's component video inputs?
    • Since this still only supports the standard definition resolution, the clarity will still be comparable. There will be an improvement in color depth and you might notice a slight improvement in clarity but overall they will be similar. If you are using a standard definition TV, that is about the best quality available. If you have an HDTV however, you would notice a significan improvement from an HDTV converter like the SW-4280 or a direct VGA cable connection.

  • This item will be permently installed into a room where diferent users will connect their laptop to a HD15 connector on a wall plate. I will need to power this device with a power supply, what will I need for that? Also, are any changes that need to be made to the PC output to enable the image to display properly on a 16:9 50" Plasma display via Component input? Thank you
    • This can be externally powered with a 5v 500mA power supply. It will allow pass through from the differnt video signals, however the component output itself is only standard definition. To take better advantage of the resolution of your plasma, you might consider an HDTV adapter like the SW-4280

  • I have a laptop (ACER model apire 3000 ) and my TV is Samsung model tx-p3060w. Before to buy it, I would like to know if this converter is going to work? And can you deliver to Toronto?
    • Unfortunately I was unable to find any details on your specific model of Samsung TV, however as long as the TV has component inputs it should work well with your Acer 3000. We can also ship directly to you in Toronto

  • I want to use my computer lcd as a monitor in my car. So I need to connect an rca into the monitor some how so the monitor will display what's playing in my car. Will the pc to tv converter wort for this. Basically i just need to change the monitor input connection to a rca connection. Is there an adapter for this or will i need a converter?
    • The PC to TV converters are actually designed to do the opposite--you would need a standalone TV tuner like the SW-8181
