  • Do you have to use the video editing software with this.....I am really needing just the usb to s-video connections for an older jvc camcorder. I have a video editing software on my computer already, but am looking for a hookup to connect the camcorder to the computer. Would this work, or is there something else I need? Thanks
    • Most capture software will detect this device as a capture adapter and allow you to capture through it. We cannot guarantee that it will work with all software, but it should work with most software and should work just fine for recording from your JVC camcorder.

  • Being a complete novice at this, I want to know if this product is all I need to plug my camcorder into my pc for the purpose of putting homemade videos onto my pc and then editing them? I have Windows Moviemaker on my pc which is where I would send the video to
    • Yes, this should be all that you need. Windows Movie maker should be able to detect this as a video source and you can capture video directly into Movie Maker.

  • Will audio also be captured via the USB port? I've not seen one of these that captures both video AND audio before. One usually has to have a separate audio connection to the PC.

  • Can this product be used to send video out to a tv or other device if your video card supports the tv out function?
    • No, this part is only for inputting video from a video source to a computer. If your video card supports the TV out function you should just need a cable to go from the video card to the TV. If it does not support that function you can add that function with a PC to TV converter. We carry a lot of different models for different setups, but our most popular one is the PC to TV Converter, part SW-20460.
