Smart AVI's DVX500 KVM extender uses inexpensive and tidy Cat5/5e/6 330 feet while still retaining up to 1600 x 1200 resolutions.
How it Works
The sender unit is connected to your video, mouse, and keyboard signal source (either of the three components are optional to extend). You then have the option of using Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7 cable (for distances of 330 feet or less)
Once the sender and receiver units are connected, a DVI or VGA display (such as a projector or flat screen monitor, for instance) can be connected to the receiver, along with a keyboard and mouse (optional).
Depending on the type of device, you can connect monitors with a resolution of up to 1600 x 1200 pixels. You can use a PS2 Mouse and Keyboard, or SUN Keyboard/Mouse, or USB Devices. Since the unit is extremely slim and small, it can be placed in narrow housings or next to projectors, in server racks, or anywhere else that might be convenient.
