  • Does this PC Card provide USB 2.0 vs. USB 1.1 speed? My old Dell C640 Latitude only has USB 1.1 speed.
    • Yes, if your laptop has an ExpressCard slot this card will add USB 2.0 speed. USB 2.0 is completely backwards compatible with USB 1.1 so if your device is 1.1 it will work at the slower speed. Assuming, however, that your device is USB 2.0 then you will get the full USB 2.0 speeds with this card (with a theoretical max speed of 480 Mbps).

  • My wife uses a Dell C640 Latitude that only offers USB 1.1 speed. Will this PC Card upgrade her USB speed to USB 2.0?
    • The Latitude C640 has a PCMCIA slot, rather than an expresscard slot. You would need a USB PCMCIA card instead.

  • I have a Compaq Presario V5000 Laptop. The USB ports (there are 2) are top/bottom as opposed to side by side. The center piece fell out and both USB ports are now shot. The computer does not have a PC Card slot, but it does have an ExpressCard slot. Will this express card be compatible with my laptop?
    • Yes, this should work just fine in your laptop's ExpressCard slot. It will then add 4 USB ports to your computer that you can use instead of the built in ones.

  • my new acer 8730 model as a express54mm pccard slot,will the 34mm fit just right,without moving side to side, or do i have to buy a 54mm size card. tks
    • The 54 mm slot is designed to accept both 34 and 54 mm cards, although we do recommend using care not to pull the card too much since it does have the potential to move to one side.

  • Does this item have a power cord? What is the voltage needed for the power supply?
    • This ExpressCard does come with an external power option, but we do not sell the cord due to the fact that it is rarely used. This product is powered through the ExpressCard port so no alternative power supply is needed. If you have further questions contact technical support.
