  • I have a Gateway laptop with 1 PCMCIA slot. Also, I have a HP Yuan EC680 Analog TV Tuner Expresscard and I would like to know if I can use the "SIIG USB to ExpressCard Adapter" (SW-8229) to use that Expresscard. I have Windows Vista Ultimate. Or, which part or adapter you would recomend to me.
    • This adapter (SW-8229) should work for you as long as your Express card is USB based. If you are unsure about whether or not your card is USB it is best to contact the supplier of the card.

  • I have an old Sony Viao (PCG-993L) with 1 PCMCIA slot. Its only USB 1.1 compliant. Can I use the "SIIG USB to ExpressCard Adapter" (SW-8229) to use an Option GT Max 3.6 Express wireless card?
    • As long as your card is USB- based then this should work just fine. We haven't had any compatibility problems with any USB cards.

  • I have bought the X-FI XTREME AUDIO NOTEBOOK EXPRESSCARD/54 from CREATIVE and I would like to know if I can use the SIIG USB to ExpressCard Adapter to connect it to my SONY VAIO VGN-FZ31Z which has an expresscard/34 slot instead of a 54 slot.Notice that I have already contacted the supplier of my audio card(CREATIVE),but I haven't received a specific answer regarding whether the X-FI card is USB based or not. Is there any way to recognise by myself if the above audio card is USB based or not??? If I make an order for this adapter and my audio card doesn't work, is it possible to refund my purchase?
    • Creative would be the best way to determine if the X-Fi is USB based. We do have a 30 day return policy, and if we recieve all the parts and packaging in good condition there is not a restocking fee, so you only really risk the shipping fees.

  • I need to know if this product will work with the sony ericson air card.
    • The Sony Ericsson cards are PCMCIA cards not ExpressCards so they will not work with this adapter. We do not have any USB adapters that work with the Sony Ericsson cards.

  • I own a Dell Inspiron 1720. It has one Express card part, but I own two express cards. A Express card sound blaster x-Fi xtreme audio sound card and AVer TV ATSC TV tuner. Now I am wondering, will my laptop read two express cards at the same time, if i purchase this tool.
    • Yes, your laptop should be able to recognize both slots. There is a good chance that both of the cards you mentioned are PCI-express based technology however, and will not work with this adapter. This adapter only works USB-technology-based express cards.
