  • I have a program which controls 2 stepper motors through parallel port written in VisualBasic6. Does this product working for my purpose to convert signals from my laptop(which doesnt have parallel port)to circuit running my steppers?
    • This will install a true LPT parallel port on your laptop through the PCMCIA slot. The card can be assigned to any available LPT port and supports legacy addressing. It will also support EPP or SPP modes, however it does not support ECP mode (typically used with scanners and all-in-one printers). As long as your stepper motors use EPP or SPP modes, this should work well for you.

  • I have a POS software that has a software key that needs to be attached to a printer port. I want to install this software on my laptop, a Dell Vostro 1400. Will this device work?
    • Since this device acts as a true EPP port, it will work. It is not simply an emulator, meaning it will work as a native parallel port.

  • My software key must attach via parallel port to "motherboard", per my vendor. Will your PCMCIA card work as though my software key is directly attached, thus allowing my court reporter software to run?
    • Yes, this card works great with software keys, and should do the trick for you.

  • Hello. I need a parallel port for my Dell Vostro 1700 laptop to attach a workstation module for my job. Will this card work for me? Also, what slot does it plug into on the laptop?
    • We have had great success with the versatility of Quatech Parallel cards, and as long as your laptop has a pcmcia slot and is running one of the supported operating systems, it should work. The PCMCIA slot (also known as PC card slot) is a slot in your computer big enough that if you wanted to you could slide a credit card into it, and is a predecessor to the current ExpressCard technology. We recomend you check your computer's specifications to see which type of slot your computer has.
