Create a true LPT parallel port using your computer's ExpressCard slot with this Quatech ExpressCard that is PCI express based.
Finding a parallel port on your laptop or computer these days is pretty rare. That's partly why they call "parallel" a "legacy port." Use those old parallel devices with your new computer system with this 34 mm ExpressCard that will fit in any ExpressCard slot.
PCIe Based = Ports more closely emulated
The PXP (Performance) Series from Quatech uses PCIe (PCI express) power control and core interface unlike the USB based design used in lower end ExpressCards. The PCIe based design can directly use I/O space addresses and interrupts and more closely emulates built-in ports. Also, since there is no USB stack for the drivers to contend with, throughput can be higher.
With the true PCIe based design, this parallel port will be more compatible with devices such as multi-function printers (scan/print/fax/copy combos).
