PTC Premium HDMI v1.3 4x2 Matrix Switch w/IR remote control Reviews - HM-432

Pros: After much experimenting everything finally works as advertised. I'm using 2 TiVo's on the input and 2 1080P LCD's on the outputs. Any combination of input output works at 1080i ( highest HD for my model TiVo's ) with no resetting/repowering of anything required. Sound comes through the HDMI, Picture is crystal clear, one output is driving a 100 Foot HDMI cable with a built in repeater at the far end. All Video is crystal clear, excellent Color and sound, etc.

Cons: What I recieved was a small plastic box with one of those "Bubble style" remotes along with a power supply. It has a front HDMI input, 3 more on the back along with 2 outputs. It is nothing like the picture but I admit the smaller size makes placement easier. I'm taking off one star because it's nothing like the picture.

Other Comments: I was having all sorts of trouble until I removed the surround sound from the HDMI path and instead, drove it using the optical output from the TV with everything set to PCM sound. If you search the web you will find surround sound cause all kinds of HDMI problems. Sewell Note: We are glad that you got the unit working for you. Pros: Is a true Matrix switch

Cons: Nothing like the picture, what arrived was a much smaller plastic box with one of those "Bubble" style remotes. I'm running 2 TiVoHD boxes into two 1080P LCD's. Having Digital Rights issues, if no TV sinking a TiVo output the HiDef Video drops back to 480P. When I switch back it doesn't re-establish the Hi-Def format, remains stuck in 480P. I have to manually reset the TiVo Video output to 1080i again. Other than that the box works as advertised, picture clear, etc. a true Matrix box, any input to any output. Unfortunatly doesn't "play well" with TiVo's Digital Rights Management software. Other switches/splitters didn't have this problem. Looks like it's not establishing the HDMI DRM "Handshake".
