Tag-based VLAN:
Using tag-based VLANs instead of port-based VLANs allows you to have multiple "mini-LANs" in your network that span devices on several ports without being in the same network as other devices sharing those ports.

QoS and Management:
The advanced VLAN configurability can be combined with QoS rules, bandwidth limitation, and other policies to better regulate network flow. These options and more are available from a web-based administation tool or through the serial port.
