Intellinet's web-smart switch is rack mountable and features 24 10/100 Mbit RJ-45 ports with two gigabit ports for good measure and network versatility.
The role of gigabit:
Some parts of a network will require less bandwidth than others. To help you allocate this, QoS rules are supported and can be regulated via web interface or
serial port. This allows you to balance the load between ports while reserving more speed for the gigabit line.
VLANs and clients:
VLANs allow system administrators to group the LAN into sections for different rules. This means you can have 26 (port-based) mini-LANs within your network. This increases your control and ensures better network performance for up to 8,000 clients.
