Video Storm 6x1 HDMI/DVI Switch Reviews - TMDS61

Pros: Great switcher. All six HDMI inputs are linked with optical or toslink inputs. Virtually future proof because the switching is at the electrical level so HDMI 1.4 and onward is compatible with it.

Cons: While in Autoswitching mode the HDMI boost feature cannot be turned off. This is annoying because the autoswitching is seriously awesome but my cable runs are very short so sometimes the boost interferes with the picture quality. The older version of the TMDS61 did not have autoboost mode in autoswitching mode. I contacted the company and they said that if I had longer cable runs to the unit (at least 15 feet) then it would fix the problem.

Pros: Separate digital audio inputs for each channel, some toslink, some rca/coax. Output for audio has both toslink and rca/coax. Programming Zerokey stuff to any remote works great! I needed this switch to connect multiple gaming systems (some with hdmi output) and my circa 2001 receiver (with digital audio inputs) to our new 82 inch Mitsubishi DLP tv. Works well so far. I upgraded the cable box to a newer one to get hdmi output from it also. The switch works as advertised.

Cons: I will have to buy a few adapters to make use of the dvi ports. That's OK with me since the price was great!

Other Comments: This is my first purchase from Sewell Direct. It went very well. I will shop here again.

Pros: Simple set-up Simple operation Excellent process for IR remote

Other Comments: It is smaller than I anticipated...neither pro nor con, though.

Pros: Worked as advertised. Good construction -- looked like hand-built.

Cons: The spacings for DVI connectors are a little narrow. It's hard to connect side-by-side DVI cables with big fat connectors such as the ones made by Monster Cable. The optical connectors are also recessed too deep that made it hard to snap tight optical cables with large head.

Other Comments: Order from Sewell Direct was timely. Shipping was quick. Good service.
