Gefen Super USB 2.0 Extender Questions - EXT-USB-2.0

• I tried some active repeater USB cables (3) with a Wifi USB card and it doesn't work.... only 2 cables work for this... With this device, does it work with USB device as well ? Its way much costy tough...or maybe you have a better suggestion... Thanks
  • If your wifi adapter isn't working with 3 active extension cables it's possible that it is trying to draw more power than what's left after running through the 3 cables. If this is the cause of the problem you could put a powered USB hub between the 3rd extension cable and the wifi adapter to supply more power. If that is not the source of the problem this USB extender unit should provide a good enough signal to run that wifi card without any problems.

• I want to install this in a noisy environment (with motor, solenoide,...). Is this one will do the job or do you recommand something else. Thank you!
  • Cat5-based USB extenders such as this work well in interference-intensive situations due to the twisted pair nature of Cat5. This should work great for you. However, if you are going less that 60 ft, you might consider getting our active usb extension cables
