The Gefen Home Theater Processor lets you use your HDMI source with a seperate sound system by stripping the audio out of HDMI and seperating it out into its 8 audio channels. It then processes this audio to meet Surround Sound format requirements. After all of that, it amplifies each channel by 20 watts.
How To Use This
This processor gives you one HDMI input. The processor then takes out the 8 channels, seperates them, and works its magic to meet surround sound specifications. You have the choice to use this as your main receiver/amplifier by connecting your speakers straight to it, or you can route the audio to other devices using digital output (Toslink) or analog RCA.
Once all of your audio equipment is set-up, you send the HDMI output to your display. You can also fine tune the audio using the included IR remote and the on screen display menu.
