  1. I have a Dell Vostro 1700 laptop and I would like to use a Siemens communication PCMCIA card with it. Do you happen to know whether I have a problem if i buy a DA-100 adapter?
    • While we haven't tested that specific configuration, that should be compatible. We have had very few issues with either Dell laptops or with many PCMCIA cards.

  2. I have the GC89 broadband aircard from T-Mobile. Will the Express Card to PCMCIA Adapter work with this card?
    • The GC89 card will only work with Windows XP, because the GC89 software does not work correctly with this adapter and Windows Vista. The ExpressCard to PCMCIA is pretty universal. However some people have reported issues with getting it to work with the Sony Ericsson card. We have a forum thread about the known compatibility issues.

  3. How does the speed when using this adapter compare to the speed of a PCMCIA card connected directly to a laptop?
    • The Express Card slot is a much faster slot than PCMCIA. Since it is a faster slot it will be able to handle the full speed of a standard PCMCIA card. The adapter itself introduces very little delay in the data rate of the card. In most cases this delay is not noticeable.

  4. Will this work with my specific laptop and PCMCIA card?
    • Unfortunately due to the wide selection of laptops and PCMCIA cards available it's hard to say, but generally speaking this adapter is very versatile and will most likely work for you. We have a forum thread about the known compatibility issues that anyone considering buying this product should read before purchase.

  5. Is this adapter compatible with Allen-Bradley PCMCIA cards?
    • According to the manufacture, the Allen-Bradley cards that have been tested and are compatible are models 1784-PCD and 1784-PCC. These cards have only been tested with a Dell Latitude 820 laptop. It is possible that the cards are compatible with other laptops but that has yet to be officially determined by the manufacturer.
