  • How does the speed when using this adapter compare to the speed of a PCMCIA card connected directly to a laptop?
    • The Express Card slot is a much faster slot than PCMCIA. Since it is a faster slot it will be able to handle the full speed of a standard PCMCIA card. The adapter itself introduces very little delay in the data rate of the card. In most cases this delay is not noticeable.

  • Is this adapter compatible with Allen-Bradley PCMCIA cards?
    • According to the manufacture, the Allen-Bradley cards that have been tested and are compatible are models 1784-PCD and 1784-PCC. These cards have only been tested with a Dell Latitude 820 laptop. It is possible that the cards are compatible with other laptops but that has yet to be officially determined by the manufacturer.
