EnerTrail's MR16 bulb uses a small fraction of the wattage typical bulbs use, lasts for 20,000 hours, and creates an attractive non-UV light.
MR16 bulbs all share the same style base: the two prong (aka bi-pin) GX5.3 base. This is common for track lighting, recessed lights, and other lighting applications in residential and commercial environments.
Brightness and Energy-Use Economy
Although LED bulbs aren't quite as bright as typcial bulbs, they consume a small fraction of the energy. The brightness spec is usually in lumens and the energy usage spec is usually in watts. As a comparison, with a normal 60 watt bulb you get a max. 850 lumens. This bulb uses 5 watts for a max 142 lumens. This means that typical bulbs get 14 lumens/watt and this bulb gets around 28 lumens/watt.
