Manufacturer Part #: EJ-IP101A

Dynapower's IP Serial Server allows you to control your serial devices from over the internet or LAN. It is perfect for devices like weight scales, scanners, time card readers, and other important devices. It's a great solution for connecting multiple users to a single device over the network (up to eight per port).
Direct IP Mode
This mode can communicate to your device with either TCP/IP or UDP/IP socket connections. This allows you to directly communicate to the device.
Virtual COM Mode
In virtual mode, the serial server is connected to the PC as if it were normally connected. The virtual COM translates the data into an IP packet and sends it back and forth through the network. You can either choose TCP or UDP for this mode.
Paired Mode
For paired mode, you need two serial servers. One is set to "Server" and the second to "Client". In this mode, the two servers must have the same IP address and then they can share the information between them. The host PC connects to the server with a Null Modem cable directly. In this mode, the computer can connect to the device as if it were connected locally. This mode doesn't require any software to be loaded into the host computer and is a quick method to connect any device.
Heart Beat
Heart beat is a great protocol allowing the best communication between computer and device. Heart beat allows communication to resume after a power loss or interruption. The server tries to reconnect every five seconds until the device is connected again. This helps automate the connection process without having to do it manually. Heart beat is available in either Virtual COM mode or Paired Mode.
