Lampjefe - Didn't work for me 12/16/2008 3:42:07 PM | |
Pros: Easy to install. Cons: Not for all devices and this was not stated on the website. Other Comments: I wanted to use this for a wireless N adapter card but upon receipt of the adapter, I saw on the package that it was not to be used for certain types of applications (modems, ethernet, and things of that nature - communications?). Needless to say, the wireless card I wanted to use it with did not fire up. I was able to return the Express card and exchange it for a regular PCMCIA version. I tried this adapter in the event that a future machine would have an Express slot and I could connect the card directly to the machine. Oh well. I imagine it works well for other things. Pros: The express card 34 fit properly. Cons: My device didn't work once installed. No power to the Express Card accessory. Other Comments: Although the primary fault for the device not working is the incompatibility by the device manufacturer, the PCMCIA adapter product should specify that it will only work with a limited range of devices. I don't know what they might be, but I'm sure the manufacturer does.
Sewell Direct Note: We are sorry that the product didn't work for you. Express cards can be based on USB architecture or PCI Express architecture. This adatper typically only works with USB based express cards, Unfortunately we don't have a comprehensive list, but your card's manufacturer can tell you which they use. You can return the product for a refund. Was this review helpful? Yes - NoBe the first to vote! Permalink

Pros: Works as advertised, very handy. Cons: A storage case would be nice. Other Comments: If your Windows PCMCIA drivers are corrupt it won't work, trust me. Was this review helpful? Yes - NoBe the first to vote! Permalink

Pros: I needed an adator to get an express card to fit in my Dell Laptop PCMIA Slot. I had no problems with the order process from Sewell. The adator I received was crafted with quality and worked with my new express card without any problems. Cons: NA Was this review helpful? Yes - NoBe the first to vote! Permalink
