What would I use to connect my Macintosh laptop's DVI output to my TV's component video input? thanks.
- Unfortunately Mac versions video cards will not support the component over DVI signals. The best option, if you have HDMI on the TV, is to use a DVI to HDMI cable. If you only have component ports available, I would suggest a PC to HDTV converter like the SW-5693

If it doesn't support Y,Cr,Cb. What does it support?
- This will support the Y, Pb, Pr or sync-on-green component video signal. Some video cards will output sync-on-green over DVI to connect to a TV, and some projectors have DVI inputs that support sync-on-green. You will need to talk to your device manufacturer to find out if your particular device is compatible.

I want to take DVI from my computer( at 1080p)split it to dvi for input into a monitor and COMPONENT for input into a DVR - is there a single cable? or do i buy the dvi spliter and dvi to component cable also? any signal issues splitting dvi(do i need sometype of booster?)
- Most video cards do not natively support component over DVI. Even with a splitter it might not work. Most DVI displays are digital only, and component is an analog signal, so unless your video card has dual head support it will output digital or analog, but not both simultaneously. Your best option might be to get an upgraded video card that supports HDTV ouput from the video card itself.

Can I use this product (SW-4281-15) for DVD player (component output) to send signal to PC LCD (DVI input)?
- You cannot do this because PC monitors are not capable of interpretting a component signal through the DVI port. You would need to use an analog to digital signal converter, like our Component to HDMI converter. HDMI and DVI use the same signal so you could then use and HDMI to DVI cable to get the signal to your monitor. That should work as long as your monitor supports the resolution that the DVD player is outputting.

I am aware that this device will not work with all video cards. I am looking to use it with a ATI Radeon HD4850 card. Would you please advise if this is device is compatable with my video card.
- You would actually need to contact the manufactuer of the actual card (ATI makes the chipset, and they make some cards, but most cards are made by other manufactueres like EVGA, BFG, MSI, Asus, etc.) The funtionality has to be implemented in the card itslef, many current card have a dedicated HDTV output.. If the manufactuer confirms that the card supports component sync-on-green or Y Pb Pr over DVI then this will work for you.
