Pros: Small, simple, low power, very inexpensive, picture quality is very good considering the cost

Cons: The picture is better in PAL position on my NTSC Philips LED wide screen. In NTSC position, the picture had fine diagonal lines.

Other Comments: Really slick little unit. Did not get a chance to check S-Video but the picture quality should be even better than composite output. I used my TiVo component output as a test source. Picture quality was good on analog, SDTV and HDTV sources.

Pros: This does exactly what it says. If you got caught up with DirecTV's update to its DVRs and were using S-video for your original Slingbox, this is your answer. Simple, works right out of the box. And Sewell support is awesome.

Cons: None - it does what it says.

Other Comments: Fast shipping and awesome suport - I will look at Sewell first for my next connection need.

Pros: Inexpensive...but not cheaply made. It does the trick of making a noticeably better picture. I can't confirm the with a scope, but to my eye, it's better than S-Video. It takes all the component video information and converts it to a S-video signal. Older units just have S-Video which makes this a perfect converter and 1/3 $s of other units.

Cons: It can't be turned off except by unplugging so it uses powere 24/7.

Other Comments: I have the new menu system that DirectTV just pushed down to us. That knocked out the simultaneous HD and SD menu system on their DVRs (I have two TVs running off the same box). I had to take the HD signal and downscale it for my SD TV to work. This is a perfect product to do it. As of this time, I have a black and white image with the vertical hold not locking in. I work during the week and am attempting to do this on a saturday. No one to help at Sewell on a saturday.... At this moment, the unit does not function. Sewell Note: We are sorry for the trouble. I sounds like there is just a setting that needs to be adjusted to make this work, we have several customers using this with DirectTV to fix exactly the issue you describe. Unfotuantely tech support is closed over the weekend, but you can contact them by email (support@sewelldirect.com) and they can help you set everything up.

Pros: It does what it is supposed to. Inclusion of all necessary cables is a bonus and the price is very reasonable.

Cons: None

Other Comments: The Component input to our Theater's projector failed. This device enables us to use the S-Video or Composite input for our next SpectiCast concert if we are not able to replace the projector in time. The low price makes the gamble that it won't be needed easier.
