  • Will this work to connect my Dell laptop to my Vizio 32" LCD HDTV? I need to go about ten feet.
    • Yes, that is exactly what it's used for. Just get this and a 10 Foot HDMI Cable and you should be good to go.

  • what is max. of cable you can run between it and T.V. thanks
    • You could use a long vga cable, 150ft and still have great quality. If you were to run hdmi you would want to stay below 50ft. The official standard on hdmi is no longer than 15 feet, though we have had succuess up to 50 ft.

  • I need to connect a VGA in my desktop to HDMI in my receiver. Will this work? I plan to connect spdif coaxial audio output from my desktop directly into my receiver's coaxial output. Will I get audio and video from my desktop to TV this way. Also, I have a 1080p TV, will I be able to read text cleanly on my TV?
    • Yes this will do what you are trying to do. It does not support 1080p, but your TV should show the 720p output. If you want to have 1920 x 1080 support from the computer we recommend the VGA to HDMI from Atlona.

  • I have a large screen (52”) HDTV. It sounds like your VGA to HDMI Converter with Scaling, 720p would work fine. I just want to confirm because of the large screen and I’m being told a 1080p is noticeably better. My purpose is for PowerPoint presentations and viewing webcasts. Please advise.
    • With the setup that you are going to be doing you should not have any issues and should look good. However, you are correct. Once you get over 42 inches you can start to see a difference between 720p and 1080p but not everyone can. If you are really concerned about the quality i would recommend you check out the SW-20505. it works the same way but it does 1080p scaling.

  • Would this work from HDMI,VGA(in) to component (out)?
    • No. This is designed to take iether a VGA or component video input, and convert it to work with and HDMI display. HDMI source to component display is more complicated because of HDCP encryption.
