Gefen

Seamlessly integrate your older analog devices into your new home theater system with Gefen's Component Audio to HDMI Adapter.

What it Does

This adapter converts a component video signal to an HDMI signal for use with HDMI compliant digital monitors. It also takes L+R analog audio and merges it into the same HDMI signal, providing the full HDMI video and audio package from a single HDMI output.

Front of the Component to HDMI Adapter

This is extremely useful when you're upgrading to an HDMI theater system but you don't want to have to pay to replace all of your perfectly good composite-based (analog) receivers, DVD players, or other devices.

How it Works

Simply connect your analog video device to the HDMI adapter via the supplied 3-RCA component cable. Then connect your analog L+R audio to the audio inputs of the Component Audio to HDMI Adapter, again with the included RCA audio cables. Finally, plug your HDMI display device into the available HDMI port.

From there, the Component Audio to HDMI Adapter does exactly what it says it does - that is facilitate the analog to digial video conversion and simultaneously encode audio onto the HDMI signal. If it sounds like a mouthful, that's because it is.
