  • I am looking at cat 5e cable part #SW-9421, It looks to me like the "shielding" is made from plastic. Is this STP shielding copper or aluminum, foil or braid ?
    • This cable uses both foil and braided aluminimum metal shielding whereas many other cables use one or the other. In the image you can also see a thin cellophane wrapper that is common in cables to aid in preserving the shape and consistancy of the twisted pairs and its shielding.

  • Does this product use a solid or stranded conductor? Also, is it riser rated?

  • Does this product support POE, and is it UV rated?
    • The SW-9421 does support POE. Unfortunately it is not UV rated but you can run it outside if you use a conduit and have no issues.

  • What is the awg of the cable?
    • All of our bulk cat5 cable is 24 AWG and all the cat6 is 23 AWG.
