Pros: Went from two Belkin 16' usb extender to this product. Its the lowest cost out there. Tech support said the next higher priced model was no better in performance. Using a 25' Cat5e patch cable yielded way better performance then the two 16' cable extenders. And the update rate is noticably faster. Its as if the mouse was plugged into the computer directly and not 25' feet away.

Pros: The extra length is very nice, and it is very simple to hook up. Just plug the Ethernet cable into both ends and plug your device in.

Cons: Communication drops out occasionally for a very short time, so if you are using this to extend an RS-232 adapter it can cause problems with losing the com port, but every other device I have used it for has worked great.

Pros: I've used three of these USB extenders with excellent results. I used to have a powered USB extender that cost almost $400. This works every bit as well at a fraction of the cost, requires no external power and installs easily.

Pros: This is the most inexpensive solution we've found so far to extend the distance of a usb device. We have not experienced a measurable delay, which is critical for us. We use this device to extend the range of usb game controllers as part of a Taekwondo scoring system. Judges are as close as 20 feet to the hub, but can be as far as 50 feet, depending on how the tournament is arranged. Fast, reliable communication is critical to the scoring system. In months of use, our error handling has not reported any data loss of failure on the part off the usb game device to respond to a request for status.

Cons: None so far.
