• am wiring small 4 office 1300 sg ft area for cat 5e. What would I need besides cable, connectors and crimpers? I would prefer the easiest crimpers available.
  • The only other thing you would need are wallplates and keystone jacks if you are wanting to put the plugs on the wall. You could use the Intellinet Cat5e pass-thru keystone jack. That pass-thru jack will make it so you can just crimp a standard RJ45 end on the cable instead of needing a punch down tool to punch the cable directly to the keystone jacks. All crimpers are fairly comparable in ease of use. A lot of people like the TRENDnet Professional crimp tool.

• Does the part no. SW-8979 cat5e wire come with RJ45 heads connected to them or do I have to connect them?
  • The Bulk Cat5e cables do not come terminated. You will need to put your own ends on it. This is done because a standard network connection generally cannot run further than about 300 feet, so this 1000 foot box would need to be cut and run in several different sections and lengths. You can purchase a package of RJ45 / 8P8C connectors to terminate the cable ends.
