Digital or Analog?

To do home recording these days, the two choices you have for your computer are analog or digital. Analog will always be lower quality with more interference and signal loss. Digital is by far the best way to go. The Behringer iAXE393 has both digital (USB) and analog (1/4-inch audio) outputs.

Home Recording Made Simple

Recording digitally at home usually requires the use of some sort of USB or FireWire interface to convert your analog guitar signal to the digital signal that you can use a computer recording application with. This can range from an inexpensive (more or less $100) USB or FireWire interface to a more expensive USB or FireWire mixer.

Why not skip the interface with this guitar that has a USB port on it? The USB port is a type B interface and an included USB cable connects the guitar straight into your computer. The analog-to-digital conversion occurs inside the guitar making an extra interface extraneous.

The guitar also comes with free guitar combo amplifier software to create all of the classic sounds of different preamps and amps. Also, use the iAXE with free, high quality computer recording equipment like Garageband and Audacity to mix your naked guitar signal once it reaches your computer.

Use it as a normal guitar

The Behringer iAXE393 can also be plugged into a normal amplifier like any normal guitar. With three magnetic pickups, pickup selector, tone and volume knobs, and a 1/4-inch output, you're ready to play live. The fretboard/string action measurement is minimal.

Classic Combos (more modeling amp software information)

GUITAR COMBO I’s popular role model revolutionized British pop music. From soft to distorted, this combo has a uniquely inspiring sonic character.

GUITAR COMBO II is the epitome of the clean and crunchy blues sound. Over the course of many decades, this warm and unmistakable sound has made a valuable contribution to countless hits.

Based on the famous tube amps that spawned the guitar legends of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, GUITAR COMBO III embodies the rock sound. Its distinctive and individual tone can be as warm as it can be hard.
