Digital or Analog?

Home recording these days has never been so accessible. Through recent history, people have only had the option of recording by analog. For the last couple of decades, however, digital has been the best way to go with the highest quality. With analog recording you get signal loss and interference. With digital recording, you can get a perfect recording each and every time. The Behringer iAXE 393 is equipped with both a USB connector (for digital recording) and a standard 1/4-inch audio out (for analog performing and recording).

Home Recording Made Simple

When you go to create a digital recording setup at home, you quickly find that you need some sort of USB or FireWire interface to convert your guitar's analog signals to a USB or FireWire signal. This can range from an inexpensive (more or less $100) USB or FireWire interface to a more expensive USB or FireWire mixer.

Why not skip the interface with this guitar with a USB port already on it? The USB port is a type B interface and an included USB cable connects the guitar straight into your computer. The analog-to-digital conversion occurs inside the guitar making an extra interface extraneous.

The Behringer iAXE also comes with combo software to get you the basic effects that dozens of different preamp and amp combinations would offer. The iAXE also works perfectly with digital recording software like Garageband and Audacity.

Use it as a normal guitar

The Behringer iAXE393 can also be plugged into a standard amplifier. With three magnetic pickups, pickup selector, tone and volume knobs, and a 1/4-inch output, you're ready to play live. The fretboard/string action measurement is minimal.

Classic Combos (more modeling amp software information)

GUITAR COMBO I’s popular role model revolutionized British pop music. From soft to distorted, this combo has a uniquely inspiring sonic character.

GUITAR COMBO II is the epitome of the clean and crunchy blues sound. Over the course of several decades, this warm and unmistakable sound has made a valuable contribution to countless hits.

Based on the famous tube amps that spawned the guitar legends of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, GUITAR COMBO III embodies the rock sound. Its distinctive and individual tone can be as warm as it can be hard.
