Long Distance:
By using a very narrow acceptance angle, audio can be recorded from a long distance. The off-axis rejection allows for better source isolation. Better isolation means easier post-production editing.

Getting rid of ambient noise is easily accomplished by switching the low-frequency roll-off on. White noise and low-level audio is automatically cut out with this feature allowing you to focus on the important source audio.
