  • Can this box be used with digital cable TV?
    • This box can only be used with over the air digital TV. For digital cable TV you need what is called a QAM tuner. This is an ATSC tuner.

  • I have a Sony plasma TV model # KE42TS2U. Can you tell me if this TV has an HDTV compatible monitor and if your set-top box is what I need to obtain the best picture from an over-the-air antenna?
    • That TV's max resolution is 1024x1024, which is a very odd resolution. It does not have enough horizontal pixels to support 720P HD, but it should be able to support 480P, and digital signals from ATSC will come in clearer than the NTSC over-the-air signals. Our device is compatible with your TV, but you will not recieve HD.

  • Could this product be used to record through a tuner-less VCR/DVD combo?
    • This box will pick up the free over the air channels and could output them to a VCR/DVD combo that has either composite or component inputs. This would get the signal you'd need to that combo unit.
