Intellinet
Easily enhance the distance of your local network with a media converter. Intellinet has a series of media converters that allow you to change your Ethernet signals into fiber optic.

Multi-Mode

Multi-mode fiber is best for distances under 2 kilometers. Intellinet's Multi-mode Converters are perfect to run your network within your building or even the next building while remaining cost-effective. Standard Ethernet RJ45 cables can run a maximum of 330 feet (100 Meters) which limit your options in extending your network. This Multi-Mode converter will allow you to run your network at 100Base (100 Mbps) across the fiber connections up to 2 kilometers.

Duplex

Another great feature on this Ethernet media Converter is the half-duplex and full-duplex switch. An easy way to picture half-duplex is to think of a walkie talkie. Only one person can speak at a time and say "over" to finish talking. Full-duplex is more like a telephone connection where both parties can speak at the same time. The transfer speeds are 10/100 Mbps for half-duplex and 20/200 Mbps for full-duplex.

This converter also includes auto negotiation of speed for the Ethernet side. This means that the converter will be able to control both 10Base and 100Base speeds without you adjusting the network speeds to match the converter. Fiber optic networks will maintain the network speed regardless of the distance. It uses light waves to transmit the signal therefore they are immune to electromagnetic interference. You can rest assured that your converter will efficiently maintain your network connected even over great distances. It is also covered by Intellinet's lifetime warranty so protect it from defects.
